It is a distinct honor to nominate qualified candidates for appointment to one of the United States Service Academies—where we shape the future military leaders of our nation. Each applicant begins this journey of excellence by completing an application and undergoing the selection process for the following academies: the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, or the U.S. Naval Academy. Your interest in serving our country is truly commendable.

To be considered for a nomination to the Class of 2030, you must meet the following criteria:

• Be a legal resident of West Virginia and a United States citizen,
• Be at least 17 years old but not yet 23 years old on July 1 of the year you would enter the academy (up to 25 years old for the Merchant Marine Academy),
• Graduate from high school before July 1 of the year you would enter the academy, and
• Be unmarried, not pregnant, and without legal obligations for the support of a dependent.

All candidates must complete the online application and submit the required documentation by Friday, October 24, 2025, to take the next step toward a bright future.
