BACKGROUND:
- Duckworth currently sits on the board of the West Virginia First Foundation, having been appointed by Senator Justice.
- West Virginia First Foundation is a private, non-profit organization focused on empowering West Virginians to prevent substance use disorder, support recovery, and save lives.
- Year-over-year data for the 12 months ending in August 2024 shows a 32.79% decline in drug overdose deaths in West Virginia, surpassing the national average decrease of 23.7%.
