CHARLESTON, WV – U.S. Senator Jim Justice commended President Trump’s Administration for investing $4.2 million to broaden rural healthcare access in West Virginia.
According to a press release from the Office of Senator Justice, the funds will be used to increase medical transportation capacity. The investment is part of the Administration’s plan to improve rural access so that people living in rural areas are able to access top-notch healthcare nearer to where they live.
“No West Virginian should have to travel hours just to get quality health care. Having fought for rural healthcare for years, I know just how vital local access is to our communities. President Trump promised to stand with rural America, and this investment shows he’s delivering. Getting the Rural Health Transformation Program across the finish line in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act means our families are going to be taken care of. Plain and simple, this is a giant win for our state,” said U.S. Senator Jim Justice (R-WV).
The press release noted that the Working Families Tax Cuts, which was passed by Congress, enabled the $4.2 million investment. This investment is a component of the bigger overall funding sum of $199,476,099 million that the Mountain State was awarded for fiscal year 2026.
