Flag Requests

My office is happy to assist West Virginians in purchasing an American flag that can be flown over the U.S. Capitol to commemorate a special occasion, event, or holiday.

Flags are flown on special flag poles, and after being flown, each flag is issued a keepsake Certificate of Authenticity by the Architect of the Capitol.

• There are two flag options for you to choose from when purchasing a flag flown over the Capitol: pre-flown and date-specific flags.
• Pre-flown flags are accompanied by a certificate from the Architect of the Capitol as a record of the event.
  Date specific flags include a customizable certificate from our office in addition to the standard certificate and you can elect to have the flag flown on a specific date.
